For a better part of my life I have been inquisitive about
and by people who aren’t all loud & clear like me.. an extrovert. People
who are not easily overwhelmed by emotions that they feel the need to get it
out, in tears, words or affection. These are the people with dignity &
polish who are well guarded, people who define cool.
Subsequently I conversed with various introverts & ex
introverts, extroverts about introverts, my sister who was a major introvert
back in the days, to get to the depth.
The shy Introvert comes clean (ex introvert)
Looking for radical transparency overnight does not occur in an intro’s case. He holds himself back much in his virtual life online which in comparison to real him is nowhere close. Its not that intros are any less opinionated, infact they can surprise you but for some reason in the back of their minds they are forced to think “what if people don’t like what I have to articulate?”, “what if that leads me to the subject of mockery?” So its about time you knock your fears out if any, don’t be blindsided by it. Try living such a life & it’ll knock the wind outta you. He’s very happy with his new found zest, tells me Ishaan.
Quiet Girl in a Chaotic world
Resorting to write seemed like a good way out when she couldn’t share her state of mind with everybody else..so she began to operate on a personal online diary. Being a centre of attention is not a intro’s scene. The world seems to be geared towards extroverts but there’s a towering need for people to realise intro’s viewpoint & reaction to stimulation. Intros are not anti-social but they prefer small group bonding. We are just another set of people who smile more than talk.. tells Nikita
Intros in business..hot mess?
Sure they are intellectual folks but expressing them at
certain events can be a pickle at times.
They are considered to be uncomfortable carrying on conversation with fresh people, but there can be numerous other ways to fill in that gap that will balance your personality & style. In most cases people are taught to open up in the corporate world, interact, widen their network but how is an introvert to fulfil all these requirements? Adjustment & attitude fixation come hand in hand with a job offer..much to their ennui, tells me Asheesh
What I derived when an extro laid down her opinions about an intro
Its absurdity if an introvert rides the high-horse
approach.
One does not get to excuse oneself from the love table if
you are still partaking its joy.
You give as you receive. Self absorbed people are
unwelcomed in that case.
Everybody cringes & cowers in fear, an introvert does
not have to hide from it, and eventually everyone makes it out. Because if you
choose the other end, you ought to have a major fall since the person will have
so much baggage on his shoulders that he will suffer a major fall, tells me
Becca
Worst case scenario.. Introverts in denial
Introverts who due to their lifestyles begin to believe that they are extros. It’s a common myth for several individuals. If you stand in this region.. ask yourself.. “Do I like being introduced by others?” If it’s a positive, you know you redefine cool 8) There’s no need to feel extra shy or embarrassed..Value it : ) I didn’t know I was a winker until my classmate told me not to hit on him since he was not gay :P jokes Arjun
Introversion..the lady killer!
Interaction itself is a task at times subjective to
people but when it comes to females its multiplied. Its hard to be the Ladies
man that one ideally wants to be. We feel completely alive in quiet environments.
Usually I use trolling as a defence mechanism, make myself laugh.. purposely
get rejected. Go on the Lost-mode(I don’t give a rat’s arse mode) Although some
girls find it attractive because it shows we don’t rely on anyone but
ourselves..so that’s a plus..tells Raj
The half Introvert.. Ambivert
Pondering between both the qualities of intro & extro, he’s the subjective guy who believes there’s nothing unusual about it. Simple, comical, standing tall between margins he doesn’t prize social & outgoing above all, guy fond of simple pleasures is unpredictable. Rendering an approach that’s direct he’s straightforward.
Swimming in his own space he never had to face
competition or struggle(maybe because of his goodish charms) Unbiased, equipped
& primed, he fails to settle for being a shadow tells Aditya
Introvert’s liveliness tends to enlarge through
reflection & diminish during interaction.
Introverts use their introspection before acting, so it gives them a chance to think before they speak. Unlike us extros who are quick to ramble on something were are not even aware of, & trust me it comes naturally :P
Intros are potential energetic people in the making of kinetic.
They are a gentle, peaceful presence on the globe filled with overwhelming
stimuli.
Introversion is not a form of fright or fear. But for
some reason the two are sometimes referred as synonyms.
Are they living under the proverbial rock? Intros are not oblivious but just serene.. they are like baby gazelle, they come around their own time :D I sometimes enjoy the mystery until it starts to turn into misery :P Take your time to unfold but also be aware of the extros nature of being restless. Thus don’t be me, myself & I the whole while, get to know us, we aren’t all that scary :D
Introverted personality types are different & its upto you guys to educate the world and help them understand who you are. Although people like me come handy ;D Thank Procrastination!
To end this wonderful realization which was a curiosity
for many years, I will just say..
Embrace who you are, learn what makes you tick & love
your verve.
Knock off your bloody pedestals.. jump right in with full force into the blissful..
painful.. random..erratic.. escapade called life..!
I had no intentions of blogging today – like any good procrastinator, I planned to put it off until tomorrow – but today evening, I watched something so compelling, so perspective-altering that I felt the need to write to you.. Like everyone else I've done my fair share of bad things. I have spoken badly to my parents, I have lied, I have stolen, I have cheated on test, and I have no need to hide any of it—any of my humanity—because the same feelings that have sometimes led me to do bad, have led me to do good, too. And the rest is pointless because you can’t view things through a black and white lens when we live in a Technicolor world..
The supreme act of courage is that of forgiving ourselves.
That which I was not but could have been.
That which I would have done but did not do.
Can I find the fortitude to remember in truth,
to understand, to submit, to forgive
and to be free to move on in time?
But less "I don't care" and more "I care enough to move on"
Not gonna boar with the elongated recipes but only share(shhhhh!) the secret stuff that I do or add ; )
So
lets get to it : )
SEV PURI
To begin with I actually add Pickle at the base of the puri, making it more tangy & spicy.
Add lemon juice & freshly diced dhaniya to the potato-mash, making it fresh, waking up your taste buds!
Sometimes I don’t make Sev puri out of the flat puri but with the crispy risen puris, its equally good.
Highly
advisable to make the Chutneys at home & not buy the preserved one’s.
For Sweet Chutney(apart from the obvious stuff): use Red dates, Gud/Jaggery , Badi saunf/fennel, Mangrail seeds/onion seeds &
sweetness :)
DAHI
SAMOSA CHAT
Mash the samosa down on a plate, then add chopped onion & tomato over it. Sprinkle some chat masala. Create a muddle of dahi, chilli, salt & boondi and pour it over the earlier mash. Add green chutney, sweet chutney & tomato ketchup over the mash. Ready to eat!
ALOO
PARATHA
The unusual thing that I do with my Aloo-paratha is that I mix besan, dhaniya & finely chopped green chillies with the potato mash.
Keep
the flame medium high for the paratha to rise perfectly.
ALOO PALAK
Not
really a favourite but really healthy.
This
vegetable tastes the best when served hot.
A
must, 3Gs: Ginger, Garlic & Green Chilli.
Chop
the Spinach finely for it to cook evenly.
BANANA ELAICHI KHEER
Most
definitely one of my special deserts
Boil the milk. Chop the bananas, add sugar, powdered elaichi & love to it.
When
the milk cools down, add the banana mixture (which would have by then gone
gooey) Mix it all up without mashing up the banana bits much, serve it with a
kiss : >
FALOODA
Well
this one actually I didn’t create!
I bought a ready to make Falooda mix & cooked it up.
But
what I did do was add the 2Cs, Cinnamon &
Cardamom powder to the mix during the boiling state.
When the mix was cold & ready to serve, I added couple of dry fruits & a yummy nutty ice-cream to gorge on.
It
was a hit!
GULAB JAMUN
I
don’t like them, I Love them!
The
hush-hush is that add the fried balls to the syrup while its searing hot &
Close the Lid! Close the Lid..That’s the key!
It’s make the Golden jamuns to rise like from tennis balls to footballs :P
Also
sucks the syrup right to the core, making it ready to eat almost instantly.
Add
Elaichi to the Syrup to enhance the Gulab Jamun’s flavour.
Itni shiddat se maine Tumhe paane ki koshish ki hai
ki har zarre ne mujhe tumse milane ki saazish ki hai…
These lines
by Om Prakash Makhija from Om Shanti Om had my world going in circles that my
life rotates around now.
I don’t know, neither do I necessarily aim for the readers who believe in destiny, fate, karma, will power or any other occult concepts, but the writer sure does.
I always
have lived my life believing since a very tender age about a world beyond world
& another within.
So when I came
across The Secret, it was as if my life long questions were being answered. Do
I practice the secret? Yes & an avid believer.
For the
Believers & the Realists, today I sat down to share a secret of my own.
We all at
one point of time in our demanding lives, we are heavily influenced by someone
so much so that we idolize them; believe in them & sometimes cyber stalk
them :P
That person
for me being, Somdev Devvarman.
Somdev Devvarman
The first
time I saw him was rather door se on
Doordarshan :D
He was
playing his final match at the Common Wealth Games.
I’d never
been interested in watching tennis. But this guy had something going so strong
that I couldn’t switch the channel, he played like a fierce animal. His game
spoke for the power in him, his resilience & I could see how much he
wanted this.
And by the
time he won, he’d already won my heart along with thousands of other Indians.
He’s India’s
Best Singles Tennis Player (Current ranking #129)
On winning CWG 2010 Gold
Ever since
that game, he had me, a loyal admirer. I had started glancing through the
sports section for some Som news. I began to check TV schedules for his
matches. Its something I read in The Secret & did, I would cut out his
articles from the newspaper & paste them on my wardrobe. I would talk to
him every morning, I’d kiss him goodnight.
I love him,
I believe in the player I admire so much!
I don’t
watch tennis for tennis; I watch tennis for Somdev Devvarman.
So when I
got to know of Aircel Chennai Open(ACO) 2013 & that Som was accorded a
wildcard entry there. It had me going nuts!
For some
reason I feel closer when he’s in India :P Because he is!
Although I
had no plans of going or anything close! I just logged on to the ACO site
checking for updates & news on Som.
I came
across ACO Superfan Contest. The requirement was to make an under a minute
video explaining why am I the ACO Superfan.
At first the
Procrastinate Priya strolled away from the page but then the Passionate Priya
came around & wanted to feel the joy of participation :P So I decided to go
ahead with it.
I self shot myself over my web cam, wrote my own dialogues :P & then struggled a bit with the editing, but completed the video & hit Send!
To be
honest, I had no idea or intention of winning, its just something that I did
because I had a little too much free time :P
So when I
received a mail saying that I had WON, it was Eeeeenormous!
Trust me,
because I couldn’t even smile, I was in such a state of shock!
It took me a
couple of minutes on re-reading the mail that I’d actually won!
When I
finally let it sink in, I called my sister asking her if she’d be interested in
accompanying me to Chennai, yes I’m a flaunter :P
Finally when
I showcased my video, after I’d win, everyone was taken aback.
My father,
who’s my eternal supporter, congratulated me & let me ride it smooth from
there on.
The rewards
on the win were ridiculous! It was an all sponsored trip to Chennai & back!
Doesn’t matter how much ever money you have, free stuff always overrules it :P
It was a fun flight with my sister’s antique tactics, eating & offering samosa to a firang passenger :P
We stayed at
‘The Park’ hotel in Chennai, also where all the other players were staying, Som
too :D It was a breath-taking feeling knowing he was just a couple of floors
away :P
We’d go to
the SDAT Tennis stadium for the matches.
SDAT Tennis Stadium, Chennai
And be dropped back to the hotel,
Thankyou Volvo! :P Volvo being one of the official sponsors for ACO 2013.
I watched
all these players taller than the commentator’s chairs play, they were startling!
There was Janko Tipsarevic, Tomas Berdych, Marin Cilic, Stanislas Wawrinka,
Benoit Paire & do I need to say? Somdev Devvarman : ) for whom I’d travelled
far away mountains, rivers & seas(in a plane :P )
Autographed Poster
They made me realize what a human body is capable of; although it didn’t quiet seem that we’d the same human body!
I tried to watch the doubles match between Ratiwatana Brothers & Sergiy Stakhovsky/Somdev, but all I could focus on was Som, I just couldn’t take my eyes off of him, and he was a walking, playing, slipping, laughing wonder for me.
Somdev Devvarman & Sergiy Stakhovsky
I remember taking a deep breadth, grinning & saying Thank You to the universe for the moment I was witnessing. I wanted to dance & jump & shout, but I sat back in my chair pretending to watch the match :D Damn I had goosebumps!
The next day
I was informed I’d be live on TV for a brief interview with big shot
commentator Charu Sharma himself! Instantly the song ‘15 minutes of Fame’ came
to my mind :P
I’d decided to go bald a couple of months back & thus my hair was pretty short at the time of ACO. I used gel & what not to make it look "proper", but my hair wanted to dance to its own tunes -_- And my sinister sister had done a tad bit much too much eye-makeup on me! Trust me you don’t wanna be looking like that when you are out & live on TV :P
I was very
much at easy before they called out for me to come onto the court, and as soon
as I did a nerve striked. Janko congratulated me & so did I to him, on
qualifying for the finals!
Charu Sharma interviewing Priya Singh
I wanted to start off by saying “Vanakkam Chennai” but instead Charu began asking me questions -_- He asked me if I'd written a certain slogan that got me to win to which I got baffled, thinking should I correct him that I'd made a video & no slogan or it'd be inappropriate to point that altogether! I got jittery & talking God-knows-what! :P I have no recollection of what I spoke!
After which
the IMG Reliance General Manager Asha came across to give me ACO Goodies, which
contained Som’s autographed tennis ball. I wasn’t as much overwhelmed with the
interview as I was on receiving the ball! :P I was in tears!
Everyone looking at me like I was complete and total wack!
I didn’t want
people to recognize me, I changed into ACO T-shirt :P I was as red(*blushing) as the
shirt!
It was such an immensely moving reaction to be holding that ball, feeling close to the player you admire so much, I couldn’t contain all the happiness in me. I felt like I’d burst, as what Ricky Fitts quotes in American Beauty.. like there’s so much beauty in the world, I felt I couldn’t take it.
Asha, Tanya &
Arun, people from the ACO, tried hard for me to meet Som. And I had plenty of
opportunities to meet him as well. But I didn’t.
Because I
want to meet Somdev on my own terms. What are my terms? Guess you’re just gonna
have to wait for that folks!
